GRAYSON CLEOPHAS SHILLINGFORD the former West Indian Test player died In Salisbury, Dominica on 23 December 2009 aged 65.
A fast medium right arm bowler who took 217 wickets in first class cricket, mostly for the Windward Islands, Grayson Shillingford appeared in seven Tests between 1969 and 1972 taking 15 wickets at 35.80.
A member of the West Indian team which toured Britain and Ireland in in 1969, he played in the famous match at Sion Mills when Dougie Goodwin and Alec O'Riordan bowled their visitors out for 25. This would have been considerably less had it not been for Grayson who top scored with 9*, hitting the only boundary of the innings and more than doubling the score in a last wicket stand of 13 with Philbert Blair. He also took the wicket of David Pigot in Ireland's innings. He took two further wickets in the two day draw at Ormeau which followed.
