The Under 13 Leinster schools cup final was played at Railway Union on Monday 30 of May.

The Belvedere U13 winning team

St Mary's won the toss and elected to field.Things started well for St Mary's when they took the early scalp of Andrew Delany. Although St Marys bowled well with Faolan Crowe and Derry O'Connor the pick of their excellent bowling attack they could not dislodge David Delany.

His innings showed a maturity well beyond his years as he finished with 95 not out. So dominant was his performance with the bat that no other Belvedere player made double figures out of a total of 136 for 8.

The St Mary's response was ended before it got going by a devastating spell of fast bowling by David Delany who took 3 for 5. By the end of his second over St Mary's had lost three of their top order and the writing was on the wall. He was ably support by Kevin Byrne who took 5 for 22 and his twin brother Andrew Delany.

In the end St Mary's were bowled out for 76 with Peter Fitzgerald top-scoring with 21 and David Boyle making 19.

As a result Belvedere won the match by 60 runs.
