Final 2010 Leinster Senior Averages - Comments from Gerry Byrne
Batting
As with last week I split the figures into those who achieved the qualifying figures for the Marchant Cup of 600 riuns and those who reached 500 but not 600.
Congratulations to the winner of the Marchant Cup for 2010 Tipu Gull of Rush C.C. with an average of 104. Runner up was Kenny Carroll of Railway Union.
Leading aggregate run scorer ended up to be Rod Hokin who nipped past Kenny Carroll with a score of 45* in his final match. Those two were competing to be the leading aggregate scorer for much of the season, and indeed, in other categories also.
Bowling
Again the figure are split into those who achieved the qualifying figure of 30 wickets and those who ended up between 25 and 30.
Congratulations to the winner of the O'Grady Cup 2010, Eddie Richardson of North County. Runner up was Andrew Leonard of Pembroke. Leading aggregate wicket taker was Eddie Richardson.
Eddie was also the leading wicket taker for 2010.
Catches in the field
Congratulations to the winner of the Solomons Cup, David Langford Smith of Phoenix C.C. He managed to hold on to the lead that he had when he finished his season a month ago. 6 joint runners up behind him.
Wicket Keeping
Congratulations to the winner here for the 10th time Dara Armstrong (North County C.C.). There were joint runners up in Syed Ali (Old Belvedere C.C.) and Ben Ackland (Merrion C.C.)
All Rounders
The man who has been top of the eligible qualifiers for some time now finished winner. Congratulations to the winner of the Samuels Cup for 2010 Kenny Carroll (Railway Union C.C.) . Runner Up was Tipu Gull of Rush.
I mentioned in the batting section that after a close battle between them all season Rod Hokin of Clontarf had narrowly pipped Kenny to achieve the leading aggregate batting figure for the season. Kenny got his own back here as again after a close battle between those two Kenny finished top of the tree.
Congratulations to all of the winners and also to those who made the final qualifying groups even if not ultimately successful. They can all look back with pride on a successful season.
