James, how has the season been so far for you?
This season has ended up being my best in senior cricket in terms of weight of runs and important innings for Instonians. One more big one this weekend would top it off.
And it's been a good season for Instonians - reaching the Ulster Club Turf Final as well as The Irish Senior Cup Final?
We have some very good players and some great lads around the club as well as a fantastic committee and coaching set up. It's great to be part of it.
What are your key strengths as a cricketer?
I think my game has improved, becoming more consistent. Hard work is paying off. I put a lot of effort into my fielding as I'm not a front line bowler so it adds a dimension to my game.
And areas you're looking to improve on?
I'd love to face my own bowling put it that way.
Which young (home-grown) players has impressed you most this year?
Adam Denison from Waringstown is a good talent especially in the field - we will be looking out for him on Sunday. I hear Tyrone Kane is very good but I'm yet to see him.
Your younger brother Sam has had a good season as well. Can you tell us a little about him?
Sam had a great start to the season for us and was picked in the original U19 squad for the WC qualifiers. He is just back from injury and we are hoping he is fit for the final.
What are your cricket ambitions for the next 12 months?
Hopefully to break into the national side but the team is settled and opportunities will be scarce so hopefully when I get a chance l'll make the most of it.
You have had a spell with Worcester back in 2009. Is getting a contract with an English county an ambition?
Well every cricketer wants to make the most of their potential. I think I was very immature when I was Worcester and if I get the chance I certainly will take it.
How are things going with the Ireland Development squad? Are you happy with your own performances?
I got a few starts at Yorkshire and was disappointed I didn't get a good score but having worked with Jeremy Bray and Mark Garraway and listened carefully to their advice it paid off in Sussex with a hundred. I was delighted to get it as it was my first in an Ireland shirt.
Are Instonians expected to be a full strength for the final?
We are full strength for the final yes.
What will Instonians game-plan be for the final?
Everyone knows about Waringstown and they are a great side but I have no doubt if we take it to them we will come out on top... hopefully.
