On Sunday morning Feb 10, I got a text message. ‘Kit Mooney is dead …gone at 92’. He died after a short illness having suffered a fall earlier that week. Faaqar Ali died while batting in a North California Cricket Association match on 19 April 2008. He suffered a heart attack. Paramedics who were called to the scene tried to revive him but failed. He was the son of the former Indian medium pace opening bowler and lower order batsman Syed Abid Ali ,who played 29 Tests between 1967/8 and 1974/5, scoring 1,018 runs and taking 47 wickets....
